Part-Time Assistant Coordinator — Classes & EVENTS

We’re looking for a reliable, proactive assistant to help support classes, locations, and day-to-day coordination across the project. This is a part-time role to start, with real potential to grow into a stable long-term position as Urban Zen Tokyo continues to expand.

Our requirements for teachers

Experience leading group classes. We look for teachers who have already taught mixed-level groups and can manage class flow, time, and student variations with confidence.
Completed, recognised teacher training. Ongoing professional development and short courses (anatomy, movement therapy, functional training) are a plus.
We’re looking for teachers who can teach in a variety of languages. Our classes run in English, Korean, Chinese, Spanish, French, Russian, Italian  German — and it’s a real advantage if you can teach in one or more of these. Open to the other languages open to
We operate across several hubs around Tokyo and Yokohama and planning to open the projects in the other cities and contries. While we offer regular weekly slots, being flexible with days and locations is very helpful — it lets you teach more often and grow your presence across our network. We’re primarily recruiting for regular teaching roles, so please let us know your typical weekly availability and any fixed times you cannot teach.

What happens next

We aim to respond within 2–3 business days and will get back to you with any feedback. Our HR manager will contact you via your preferred messaging channel (email, WhatsApp, LINE, etc.) to discuss your teaching styles, languages, availability, rates and preferred neighbourhoods — and to answer any questions you have about our project, terms and practicalities.If during that conversation we find we’re aligned on directions, available times and scheduling, we’ll move forward to arrange a test class — either online (Zoom) or in-person in Tokyo — scheduled by mutual agreement. We’ll confirm the format and duration in advance, and can tentatively pencil in weekly times by chat before the test. After the test class we’ll share clear feedback and, if both sides agree, confirm a regular weekly slot, a start date, and next steps for onboarding and contracting.

Part-Time Assistant Coordinator — Classes & EVENTS

Japanese language & local communication
This role involves communicating with venue partners, studios, and local contacts in Japanese — including coordination, confirmations, and solving on-site questions. A strong working level of Japanese is required. English and Russian ere also important for communication within the team
✓ Support with classes, events & on-site coordination
Assist with the preparation and smooth running of regular classes, open classes, and special events. Help coordinate teachers and participants on site, support setup of rooms and equipment, and help ensure everything runs smoothly during classes
✓ Part-time role with flexible workload
This is a part-time position to begin with. Workload may vary week to week — from a few hours on lighter days to more involved support during busier periods. Over time, this role may grow into a stable, long-term position as the project develops
✓ Hands-on operational help & flexible tasks
Help with practical tasks such as preparing or moving small equipment, keeping spaces in order, supporting on-site logistics, and handling occasional errands. As the project grows, additional tasks may be delegated related to coordination, navigation, class support, or event organisation
