I’ve been living in Tokyo for three years now, and while I’ve made many acquaintances through university and work, I’ve realized that connections in this city often feel fleeting because the environment and people change so quickly. Everything felt different the moment I walked into a yoga class at Urban Zen Tokyo, where the atmosphere was so welcoming that I was even invited for coffee right after the practice. It is such a warm and comfortable space where you feel truly understood and accepted, brought together by a shared love for yoga and the similar paths we are all walking here. It feels so good to finally find my place and my people in Tokyo even after all these years, though I honestly wish I had discovered this community when I first moved here—back when I was just a lonely and anxious student looking for a sense of home.
